About
The Blog
From the chemicals we clean our baby’s butt with, to the empty calories we feed out bodies or the hormone disruptors in cosmetics, we live in a scary world.
I live in a completely different world than my 101-year-old Great-Grandma Wahle who is going strong. She raised her kids in a much purer world than I will have to raise my kids in. And with our worlds being so different, all I can say is that I am thankful for the immense resources [like this blog] that allow my family to go back to the basics.
I try my best to educate myself on how make nutrient-dense whole food choices, how to find non-toxic cleaning and personal care products, and even choices that heal my body in ways that are purer and more close to nature.
As a result, greater health and vitality will give me the energy and capacity to do all the things I was created to do. My goal for this blog is to create a community hub for those who want to engage the natural health and wellness community. Whether you are providing questions, answers or thought provoking information, I hope this site can educate us all and give glory to Jesus. Use this information to live life to the fullest, and more importantly, give your children the best start possible.

Life
Life has really never been the same since my mother passed away in Sept. 2007. Well, I guess I should say this: How I view my lifestyle choices have never been the same since my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer in Sept. 2006. Six months after that, while she was on the homestretch of her conventional treatment with radiation after aggressive chemotherapy, the doctors found pancreatic cancer.
My mother died 6 months later.
The whole time she was sick, and ever since, I’ve had my nose pressed into books, reading. My ear has been pressed to the phone, talking with doctors to understand our bodies and the conventional and natural healing methods available to us. I’m ok with death. I have eternal hope in Jesus, and my mom became was a believer in Him too. But, as we tried to understand what was going on in her body, I very quickly got a glimpse of how deadly today’s American culture is. From a health and wellness perspective, I need not say more for anyone reading this to understand.
In awe of the things I was learning, a building passion to share information has manifest itself in this blog. I do hope the information you find here will prevent cancer and disease in your family. Likewise, may the information you share contribute to preventing cancer and disease in another family.

Question:
I have loved the Shaklee GET CLEAN products, especially Basic H2. However, I am wondering how effective it is in removing bacteria, germs, etc?? I use it as a hand wash, toilet cleaner, counter/oven cleaner, etc. Based on appearance, Basic H2 cleans very well. But how clean does it really leave things in regard to germs/baceteria? I recently started to use Basic G on occasion to get a thorough clean. Can anyone clarify this for me?

Rachelle is commenting on Shaklee’s GET CLEAN household cleaning line. First of all, it’s exciting that these products are not only non-toxic and biodegradable (safe for you and the earth!) the company was the first company in the world to obtain Climate Neutralâ„¢ certification and totally offset its C02 emissions, resulting in a net zero impact on the environment. So, it’s green before you use it! In order to remain safe and truly green, it’s anchor multi-purpose product (Basic H2) does not contain any disinfectants or germicides. You can still get rid of germs and bacteria by thoroughly cleaning and wiping and area, although it won’t kill them with a simple wipe like the chemical cleaners or Shaklee’s ultra concentrated Basic G do. There’s definitely instances where you want to be extra sure the germs and bacteria are removed, and Basic G is great for that. But, if you thoroughly clean, wipe and dry an area you should be able to remove everything scary with or without a disinfectant! Hydrogen peroxide and also tea tree oil are other great, non-toxic disinfectants for absorbent surfaces! (Be careful since hydrogen peroxide can bleach some things out) I hope this helps!
